Brick Waal format

The Waal format (WF) is a standardized size for a brick, namely 210 × 100 × 50 millimeters.
The name originated because this format was manufactured by brickworks on the banks of the Waal River.
For a long time, brick formats were named after the area of origin.
Thus existed the IJssel format, the Hilversum format, the Dordrecht format, Dutch format and the Waal format. All these formats had their own dimensions.
Nowadays the names have remained, but they no longer have anything to do with the place of origin, only with the dimensions of the brick.
